Final casting has been announced for the forthcoming Broadway production of In the Heights. The musical will begin previews on February 14 and its opening night has been set for March 9 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, directed by Thomas Kail.
Joining star and composer Lin-Manuel Miranda will be Andréa Burns, Janet Dacal, Robin De Jesús, Carlos Gomez, Mandy Gonzalez, Christopher Jackson, Priscilla Lopez, Olga Merediz, Karen Olivo and Seth Stewart. The cast of 27 also features Tony Chiroldes, Rosie Lani Fiedelman, Joshua Henry, Afra Hines, Nina Lafarga, Doreen Montalvo, Javier Muñoz, Krysta Rodriguez, Eliseo Roman, Luis Salgado, Shaun Taylor-Corbett, Rickey Tripp, Michael Balderrama, Blanca Camacho, Rogelio Douglas Jr. and Stephanie Klemons. Gomez is assuming the role of Kevin, which was played off-Broadway by John Herrera.
With music and lyrics by Miranda, book by Quiara Alegría Hudes and conceived by Miranda, In the Heights features choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and music direction by Alex Lacamoire. The Broadway production has scenic design by Anna Louizos, costumes by Paul Tazewell, lighting by Howell Binkley and sound by Acme Sound Partners. The is produced by Kevin McCollum, Jeffrey Seller, Jill Furman, Sander Jacobs, Robyn Goodman/Walt Grossman, Peter Fine and Sonny Everett/Mike Skipper with associate producers Ruth Hendel and Harold Newman.
