Emmy-nominated actress Fran Drescher, best known for her role as the nasally-voiced nanny in the TV show The Nanny, will make her New York Philharmonic debut as sorceress Morgan le Fey in the Philharmonic's presentation of Lerner and Loewe's Camelot. The performances will take place May 7 through May 10 at Avery Fisher Hall.
Along with Drescher, Camelot also features previously announced stars Gabriel Byrne HBO's In Treatment, A Touch of the Poet, Tony-nominated actress Marin Mazzie Kiss Me Kate, On the Twentieth Century, opera baritone Nathan Gunn, Christopher Lloyd Back to the Future and Tony nominee Marc Kudisch Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Thoroughly Modern Millie.
Camelot is about an optimistic King Arthur who sees his ideal of a perfect kingdom destroyed by a romantic web that includes Queens Guenevere and his best friend, Lancelot. The show is directed by Lonny Price, conducted by Paul Gemignani and produced by Thomas Z. Shepard.
