Oz Vet Lee Tergesen Completes Cast of Good Boys and True

Lee Tergesen will complete the cast of Second Stage Theatre's upcoming production of Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa's Good Boys and True. Set to begin previews April 23 and open off-Broadway on May 19, the play will be directed by Scott Ellis.

Tergesen joins previously announced cast members Christopher Abbott, Betty Gilpin, Kellie Overbey, Brian J. Smith and J. Smith-Cameron. The play is set at Saint Joseph's Prep, an all-boys' Catholic school in Washington, DC, which has taken privileged young men and shaped them into "good boys and true." In the late 1980s, a scandal rocks the school, drawing in a mother and her son—the school's star football player—forcing each to judge the difference between teenage irresponsibility and what might be a deeper, more unsettling lapse of character. Good Boys and True made its world premiere at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre last December.

Tergesen is best known for his portrayal of Toby Beecher on the hit HBO series Oz. Theatrical credits include the off-Broadway revival of The Foreigner with Matthew Broderick and The Exonerated. Additional TV credits include Desperate Housewives, Cane, Law & Order: Criminal Intent and Rescue Me; film credits include Monster and Wayne's World.
