Signature Theatre Company's production of Edward Albee's Occupant, starring Mercedes Ruehl and Larry Bryggman, has been extended for two weeks, through July 13. Directed by Pam MacKinnon, Occupant opened on June 5 at Signature's Peter Norton Space.
Ruehl plays sculptor Louise Nevelson in Occupant, Albee's meditation on the work and persona of a great American artist. The playwright, who celebrated his 80th birthday in March, has already been represented off-Broadway this season by Peter and Jerry and The American Dream and The Sandbox.
