Stoppard's Heroes to Be Part of Keen Company Season

The New York debut of Tom Stoppard's Heroes and works by Booth Tarkington and Jan de Hartog will be part of Keen Company's 2008-09 off-Broadway season. First up is a revival of De Hartog's The Fourposter, which won the 1952 Best Play Tony Award and inspired the musical I Do! I Do! This story of a marriage enacted on the title bed will run October 7 through November 22 at the Clurman Theater on Theatre Row, directed by Blake Lawrence.

Keen will present its first-ever holiday production when artistic director Carl Forsman directs Tarkington's Beasley's Christmas Party. The story of a curious journalist and his extremely unusual neighbors, the light comedy runs December 2 through January 3, 2009.

The will close with the New York theatrical premiere of Stoppard's translation of Heroes, written by Gerald Sibleyras. The winner of the 2006 Oliver Award for Best Comedy, Heroes lets the audience in on the plotting of a new assault by three World War I vets living in a veterans home. Directed by Forsman, the production will run February 24 through April 11, 2009.
