Judy and Me is the story of a 16-year-old who confronts homophobia and domestic abuse while growing up on Long Island, and how Garland's life and music helps him through it all. First produced in 2002 at the cabaret Rose's Turn, where its initial four-night performance was extended to a nearly three-year run, the play was also staged at the Arthur Seelen Theatre and the Producers Club.
Judy and Me is the first production to be staged at St. Luke's Theater since Alan Palmer's Fabulous Divas of Broadway, which similarly featured a female impersonator taking on his female idols, ended its two-month run on April 19.
