An all-star lineup, including Broadway powerhouse Bebe Neuwirth, has been announced for the 2008 Broadway on Broadway concert, which kicks off at 11:30AM on September 14 . Hosted by Spamalot's Drew Lachey, the free annual outdoor concert stretches from Times Square's 43rd Street to 47th Street, bringing together stars and performances from current and upcoming Broadway productions to celebrate the beginning of the Broadway season.
The numbers to be performed at the concert include "It Sucks to be Me" from Avenue Q, "Once We Were Kings" from Billy Elliot, "All I Care About" from Chicago, "Part of Your World" from The Little Mermaid, "Greased Lightning" from Grease, "You Gotta Have a Gimmick" from Gypsy, "Run and Tell That" from Hairspray, "When You're Home" from In the Heights, "I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm/White Christmas" from White Christmas, "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" from Jersey Boys, "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" from The Lion King, "So Much Better" from Legally Blonde, "The Winner Takes It All" from Mamma Mia!, "Practically Perfect" from Mary Poppins, "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" from Spamalot, "All I Ask of You" from The Phantom of the Opera, "When the Getting's Good" from Pure Country, "Totally Fucked" from Spring Awakening, "I Can't Recall" from A Tale of Two Cities, "Brand New You" from 13, "Montage" from [title of show], "The Wizard and I" from Wicked, "Don't Walk Away" from Xanadu and "He Vas My Boyfriend" from Young Frankenstein.
Broadway on Broadway will be preceded by an introduction from Charlotte St. Martin, Executive Director of The Broadway League, and Tim Tompkins, President of the Times Square Alliance. The event regularly attracts over 50,000 fans; attendees are encouraged to arrive early.
