Grace Gummer to Debut in U.S. Premiere of The Sexual Neuroses of Our Parents
Grace Gummer daughter of Meryl Streep and younger sister of Mamie Gummer will make her New York theatrical debut in the American premiere of Swiss playwright Lukas Bärfuss' The Sexual Neuroses of Our Parents, produced by Electric Pear Productions. Translated by Neil Blackadder, the play starts previews November 6 at the Wild Project in the East Village for a limited-run engagement opening November 11 and closing November 22, directed by Kristjan Thor.
The Sexual Neuroses of Our Parents comes to New York after a run in London. Gummer will play Dora, who, after 10 years on tranquillizers, emerges with an insatiable sexual appetite that pits her against a secret and deviant adult world. What follows is not your average yarn about coming of age or having a sexual awakening.
The design team includes scenic design by Moza Saracho, who’s also co-costume designer with Kylie Ward. Original music and sound design are by Joel Bravo, with lighting design by Sabrina Peric.
