Tom Hewitt is set to join the Broadway company of Chicago on November 3 as slick criminal lawyer Billy Flynn. Hewitt replaces Tom Wopat, who’ll play his last performance as Flynn on November 2 before kicking off Chicago’s tenth national tour in Charlotte, North Carolina on November 11.
Hewitt received Tony and Drama Desk nominations for playing Dr. Frank N. Furter in The Rocky Horror Show. His other Broadway credits include Dracula, the Musical; The Boys from Syracuse; The Lion King; School for Scandal and The Sisters Rosenzweig. His TV and film credits include Third Watch, Frasier, All My Children, Julie Taymor’s Fool’s Fire and narration for the Discovery, History and National Geographic channels.
Chicago, which will soon celebrate its 12th anniversary on Broadway, continues its run at the Ambassador Theatre.
