Theater fans have a good reason to get up early on Thanksgiving morning: The casts of four Broadway musicals will perform during the first hour of NBC's live broadcast of Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, with performances by Tony winners Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel and a fifth musical on tap later in the three-hour telecast. The lineup for the first hour beginning at 9AM EST includes the following numbers:
A medley of "I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm/White Christmas," performed by the cast of White Christmas; "In the Heights," performed by the cast of In the Heights; "There Is Nothing Like a Dame," performed by the cast of South Pacific; and "Under the Sea," performed by the cast of The Little Mermaid.
Later in the broadcast, the cast of the forthcoming Broadway revival of Hair will perform "Aquarius" on the New York Tin Toy float; Kristin Chenoweth will sing "The Christmas Waltz" from her perch on the Care Bears Winter Fun-derland float; and her Wicked co-star Idina Menzel will perform "I Stand" from the M&M's on Broadway float. The parade will also include a performance by the Radio City Rockettes, currently headlining The Radio City Christmas Spectacular.
Other stars slated to perform in the parade include James Taylor, American Idol runner-up David Archuleta, Andy Williams, Miley Cyrus, Trace Adkins and Kermit the Frog.
