Melora Hardin, star of the television comedy The Office, will make her Broadway debut this winter as fame-hungry murderess Roxie Hart in the Tony Award-winning revival of Chicago. Hardin is scheduled for a seven-week engagement at the Ambassador Theatre, beginning December 29 through February 12. Charlotte d’Amboise, who’s currently starring as Roxie Hart, ends her run on December 21.
Hardin played Fantine in the recent Hollywood Bowl production of Les Miserables in Concert, but is best known to television audiences for her role as Jan Levenson, Steve Carell's former boss and love interest, on The Office. Hardin has also appeared as Tony Shalhoub's dead wife in on the TV series Monk. She’s set to star in the film Seventeen Again opposite Zac Efron and just wrapped filming for Hannah Montana: the Movie, in which she plays the love interest of Billy Ray Cyrus. Both movies are due in April.
Chicago will celebrate its 12th anniversary on Broadway after its 5,000th performance on November 14.
