Classic Stage Company has announced plans for a new weekly series, Monday Night Othello, in which top stage actors will explore a different act of Othello each week. Audiences will have the opportunity to become part of the creative process as they experience different Othellos and Iagos through varying interpretations and actor and directorial choices.

On January 26, Michael Potts takes on Othello and Tony Award winner Alan Cumming is Iago, working with CSC Artistic Director Brian Kulick. On February 2, John Turturro plays Othello with Cumming as Iago, again directed by Kulick; and on February 9, former CSC Artistic Director Barry Edelstein will direct a cast to be announced later.
Monday Night Othello is being presented in association with the Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation and The Shakespeare Society.
CSC’s production of Anton Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya, starring Maggie Gyllenhaal, Denis O’ Hare and Peter Sarsgaard, directed by Austin Pendleton, begins performances on January 17.
