Tickets are now available for Alan Ayckbourn's comic trilogy
The Norman Conquests. Consisting of three separate full-length plays—
Table Manners,
Living Together and
Round and Round the Garden—and directed by Matthew Warchus, performances begin on April 7 at the Circle in the Square Theatre. The show opens on April 23.
Set in a dining room, living room and garden of an English country house, the action is simultaneous, with each exit in one play turning out to be an entrance in another, as the stories follow six characters: Desperate lothario Norman attempts to seduce his sister-in-law Annie, charm his brother-in-law’s wife Sarah and woo his estranged wife Ruth, during a disastrously hilarious weekend of eating, drinking and misunderstanding.
Table Manners, Living Together and
Round and Round the Garden are ingeniously structured to allow each play to be enjoyed independently or in any combination.
The Norman Conquests comes to Broadway following a sold-out run at London's Old Vic Theatre. The Broadway production will feature the London cast, which includes Amelia Bullmore, Jessica Hynes, Stephen Mangan, Ben Miles, Paul Ritter and Amanda Root. The plays are designed by Rob Howell, with lighting by David Howe, music by Gary Yershon and sound by Simon Baker for Autograph.
