With a high-octane performance of The Rolling Stones' "Satisfaction," Adam Lambert secured his spot on the Top 12 of American Idol after a national vote, it was announced live on Fox-TV on February 26. The former cast member of Wicked in Los Angeles will now go on to compete for the top spot in Season 8 of the popular reality star search.
"You're in a league of your own," American Idol judge Paula Abdul cooed when Lambert performed the song live on the February 25 episode of the show. "You're one of the most current artists we've ever had on the show," judge Randy Jackson added. "[You're] like a combination of Steven Tyler meets Fall Out Boy meets Robert Patterson from Twilight."
Lambert appeared in the ensemble of the Los Angeles production of Wicked, where he also covered the role of Fiyero. Prior to joining Wicked, he was seen in The Ten Commandments at the Kodak Theatre, where he will now compete to be the next "American Idol."
