Head-bangers rejoice! Rock of Ages has announced it will release its original Broadway cast recording June 2 digitally and July 7 in stores.
The New Line Records album—which was recorded in NYC on April 28 and 29—features 22 tracks written by the likes of Journey, Styx, REO Speedwagon, Foreigner and Whitesnake, to name a few. Among the famous ’80s hits incorporated into the show: “We Built This City,” “Wanted Dead or Alive,” “Don’t Stop Believin’,” “Can’t Fight This Feeling” and “Nothin’ But a Good Time.”
Rock of Ages, now at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, received five Tony nominations, including Best Musical, and has already been optioned for a movie. The cast is headlined by Best Actor Tony nominee Constantine Maroulis, Amy Spanger and James Carpinello.
