The Broadway production of Irena’s Vow has set a closing date of June 28 at the Walter Kerr Theatre. Dan Gordon’s play, which stars Tovah Feldshuh as World War II heroine Irena Gut Opdyke, will have played 21 previews and 105 regular performances upon closing.
“Unless business improves over the next two weeks, we will sadly be forced to close the production,” producer Daryl Roth said in a statement. “We have recently been blessed by the attendance of Archbishop Timothy Dolan who, after seeing the play, has become an extremely vocal supporter of Irena’s Vow and is enthusiastically spreading the word.”
Directed by Michael Parva, Irena's Vow began previews on March 10 and opened on March 29. The play is produced on Broadway by Stan Raiff, Daryl Roth, Debra Black, James L. Nederlander/ Terry Allen Kramer and Peter Fine.
