Justina Machado Signs On for Summer Run at In the Heights
Television’s Justina Machado is heading to Tony Award winning Best Musical In the Heights on June 29 as sassy salon owner Daniela, the role created by Andrea Burns. Machado will play an eight-week limited engagement through August 23 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre.
Machado is best known for her portrayal of Vanessa Diaz on the critically acclaimed HBO series Six Feet Under and will be a cast member in the new CBS series Three Rivers this fall. Additional TV credits include Ugly Betty (as Cousin Clara), Kath & Kim, Cold Case, Grey’s Anatomyand ER, as well as the films Torque, Final Destination 2, The Accidental Husband, Man Maid, In the Electric Mist and Pedro.
In the Heights currently stars Janet Dacal, Robin De Jesús, Mandy Gonzalez, Marcy Harriell, Christopher Jackson, Priscilla Lopez, Justina Machado, Olga Merediz, Javier Muñoz, Rick Négron and Seth Stewart and features Tony Chiroldes, Dwayne Clark, Rosie Lani Fiedelman, Afra Hines, Marcus Paul James, Nina Lafarga, Doreen Montalvo, Eliseo Román, Gabrielle Ruiz, Luis Salgado, Shaun Taylor-Corbett, Rickey Tripp, Michael Balderrama, Blanca Camacho, Stephanie Klemons, José-Luis Lopez, Antuan Raimone, Alejandra Reyes and Jon Rua.
