Gayle Rankin recently completed production on the second season of the record-breaking Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon (HBO). She was recently seen leading Brandon Jacobs-Jenkins’ series Kindred (FX), directed by Janicza Bravo. Rankin is perhaps best known for her performance as Sheila the She-Wolf in Netflix's hit comedy series Glow, for which she was nominated for two SAG ensemble awards in 2018 and 2019. She also appeared opposite Matthew Rhys in Season 1 of HBO’s reboot of Perry Mason. In May 2019, Rankin received critical acclaim for her performance in Mike Covino and Kyle Martin’s film The Climb, which first premiered at Cannes and was later released by Sony Pictures Classics. Other notable film credits include Amazon’s Blow The Mand Down, Her Smell opposite Elizabeth Moss, Noah Baumbach’s Meyerowitz Stories, Irreplaceable You opposite Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Alex Garland’s Men, and Stewart Thorndike’s Bad Things, which recently premiered at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival. On stage, Rankin garnered rave reviews for her performance as Ophelia opposite Oscar Isaac in Sam Gold’s production of Hamlet for the Public Theater. Other theater credits include Phyllida Lloyd’s all-female production of The Taming of the Shrew, Tony Kushner’s The Illusion, and Sam Gold’s The Mystery of Love & Sex opposite Diane Lane. In 2014, Rankin made her Broadway debut in Cabaret for director Sam Mendes. Rankin is a graduate of New York City’s the Juilliard School.
