13 Celebrates Labor Day with Broadway Cast Recording Session
While you were laying out sunning yourselves on Labor Day, the teens of 13 were busy laying down tracks for the original cast recording of their new Broadway musical, which begins previews on September 16 at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre. Joined by show composer Jason Robert Brown, the 13 players took turns stepping up to the mic and recording vocals for Broadway posterity, marking one of the rare occasions when a show hits the studio before the production hits the stage. Regardless of their age, the young stars looked like seasoned pros—and you can hear the fruits of their labor yourself when Ghostlight Records releases 13 later this month.
