2008 Drama Desk Noms Says Cheers at Cocktail Reception
The New York theater community's class of 2008 gathered on May 1 at the Arte Café to honor the latest list of Drama Desk nominees. They came. They drank. They schmoozed! They also accepted their nifty nomination certificates. The company of A Catered Affair certainly had their hands full. The new musical earned 12 nominations, more than any other production this season. Also picking up multiple certificates were Young Frankenstein, South Pacific, Adding Machine, August: Osage County, Sunday in the Park with George, Passing Strange and The Slug Bearers of Kayrol Island. Now that's what we call sharing the wealth!
