A Big Opening for LCT's Big Bill

The opening night party for A.R. Gurney's Big Bill, which explores the triumphant career and tragic downfall of tennis great William Tilden, was not quite as dramatic as its subject. The highs and lows of Tilden's life are played out on stage at Lincoln Center's Mitzi Newhouse Theater, but the party for the drama was a mellow, elegant affair on February 22 at the Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse. The usual LCT suspects were on hand to toast Gurney, director Mark Lamos and the superb cast. Here, here! fro Broadway.com
