A Blessed Opening for Off-B'way's Almost Heaven

Late folk singer John Denver is alive (in a sense) and singing in Almost Heaven, the new off-Broadway musical that celebrates his life and music. The show, directed by Randal Myler, opened on November 9 at the Promenade Theatre. The tuner takes the audience on a journey through the time period that Denver wrote such hits as "Rocky Mountain High" "Sunshine on my Shoulders" and "Leaving on a Jet Plane." After the curtain call, the company moved the party over to Stella Osteria for a celebration.
