A Fete for Albertine
Although the new musical My Life with Albertine, which opened on March 13 at Playwrights Horizons, features a sorrowful story based on the writing of Marcel Proust, the cast was all smiles at the opening night party at the West Bank Cafe. The writers--Richard Nelson and Ricky Ian Gordon--were joined by the sprightly cast and many well-wishers at the 42nd Street hangout after the show. We didn't see anyone chomping on a madeleine, but then we were too dazzled by the bright and smiling cast to notice.
