A Hectic Day in the Life of Hair Star Will Swenson
Broadway buzzes with activity during awards season. Close to a dozen theater trophies are handed out within a few weeks of each other and for a lucky few, this can be whirlwind of events, ceremonies, interviews and appearances. For Tony-nominated Hair standout Will Swenson, it is utter madness. On a recent Sunday when most of New York City was lazing about enjoying the summery weather, Swenson ran around at a feverish pace with a packed schedule that included two performances of the iconic hippie musical at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, singing with the Hair tribe at a well-attended Midtown rally for marriage equality, attending the Drama Desk Awards ceremony (where he was a nominee, natch) and playing ball with his two young sons, Bridger and Sawyer.
