A Smoking Party for Reefer Madness
Dare we call Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical a good time? Yes, indeed! It's the feel-good event of the year! Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids premiered the film at New York's Directors Guild of America on April 10. The movie musical is adapted from the 1936 propaganda film--which has reaped a phenomenal cult following--aimed at warning teenagers about the dangers of the demon 'Marihuana' and the 2001 off-Broadway musical production. The slick new film debuted at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival and features an all-star cast (and some familiar faces from the off-B'way version). Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical, directed by Andy Fickman and written by Kevin Murphy and Dan Studney, will also premiere on the Showtime network on April 16 to give television viewers a dose of 'Marihuana' knowledge.
