Second Stage Theatre is gearing up to unveil their musicalization of Crowns, the bestselling book by Michael Cunningham and Craig Marberry that portrays African-American women in their church hats, or crowns. Regina Taylor has adapted the book for the stage and is also the show's director. Crowns starts at the midtown theater in December with a cast including Lawrence Clayton, Carmen Ruby Floyd, Harriet D. Foy, Lynda Gravatt, Janet Hubert, Ebony Jo-Ann and Tony winner Lillias White. After a presentation by the cast, Broadway.com was treated to a fab fashion show of tribal-inspired clothing.
