At the annual black tie event to benefit Julliard's professional theater troupe The Acting Company, the well-heeled crowd got
two Mama Rose's for the price of one! Indeed, both Angela Lansbury, who headlined the 1974 revival of
Gypsy, and Bernadette Peters, who made everything come up roses in the most recent Broadway mounting in 2003, were on hand to, alternately, host and entertain the crowd of supporters for the esteemed company. Honored this year were the Shubert Organization's Chairman Gerald Schoenfeld and Angela's brother Broadway producer Edgar Lansbury, long a major supporter of The Acting Company. Held on Monday, November 12, at the grand downtown hall Cipriani Wall Street, we took a few snapshots for your enjoyment. Check it out.
