Annual Broadway Festival Presents to Invited Crowd
At the New Amsterdam Theatre this week, Broadway.com and Theatre Direct International hosted their annual Broadway Festival. Presented on January 31 for the eyes of leading U.S. tour group operators and many of their clients, the show featured dozens of company members - and several headlining stars - in musical numbers from such Broadway hits as Avenue Q, The Color Purple, Chicago, Beauty and the Beast, Spelling Bee, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Hairspray, Rent, The Lion King and Wicked. In addition, this year the audience was treated to a sneak peek at the upcoming productions of Lestat, Ring of Fire and Tale of Two Cities, as well as the participation of the sensational community choir, the Broadway Inspirational Voices.
