Are You There, God? It’s Me, Judy Blume—at 13!

While her face may not be familiar, her name certainly is to millions of teens and adults, which is why the youthful cast of <i>13</i> was thrilled by a surprise visit from young adult novelist Judy Blume on October 12, whose titles include the famous <i>Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret, Freckle Juice</i> and <i>Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing</i>. Blume couldn’t resist dropping in on the new musical, which was co-written by her fellow award-winning youth novelist pal Dan Elish. So what did the skilled wordsmith say once she made her way backstage? Well, positive things of course &#8212; but we think these pictures of her big smile are worth a thousand words.
