Los Angeles was in for an imaginative treat on November 18 when the new musical comedy,
The Drowsy Chaperone, opened at the Ahmanson Theatre. It was the official U.S. premiere of the tuner, which is aiming for Broadway. Starring Tony winner Sutton Foster, the charming show made a splash at the 1999 Toronto Fringe Theatre Festival and then at Toronto's Winter Garden Theatre. It was also seen as part of National Alliance for Musical Theatre's 2004 Festival of New Musicals in New York City. Check out the celebs who were happy to applaud for a musical drawn from no source material but the imagination!
