Belters Sing Out for Rosie's Broadway Kids
Actress, comedian, former talk show host, online blogger and all-around Broadway cheerleader Rosie O'Donnell took over the Zipper Theatre on April 11 for a terrific cause that's close to her heart. Rosie's Broadway Belters was a one-night-only benefit featuring a line-up of stage talent who came together to raise money for Rosie's Broadway Kids. O'Donnell's not-for-profit organization, founded in 2003, is a fifteen week in-school program of music, song, dance and an overview of the American Musical Theater for New York City public school children. As a special bonus, the students who take part in Rosie's Broadway Kids get to see what is for many their first Broadway musical.
