Broadway's best and buffest took over Roseland Ballroom on June 22 for the 18th Annual Broadway Bares—the beloved bacchanalia/flesh parade that double-times as a fundraiser for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. This year's debauched blowout was titled
Wonderland, and it involved some seriously twisted tributes to the Mad Hatter, Tweedles Dum and Dee, Duchess Dearest, Humpty Dumpty, and, of course, Alice, portrayed by the fabulous Mary Birdsong. Also present were Nathan Lane, Andrea Martin, Christopher Sieber, Julie White, Tituss Burgess and director/choreographer (and Broadway Bares founder) Jerry Mitchell. How much dough did this sinful spectacular raise? The final tally was a record-breaking $874,372. Way to go, Broadway Bares!
