The guys and gals of Primary Stages' season opener
Buffalo Gal stepped out on the town July 5, taking their opening night bow at the 59E59 Theatre before shuffling off to Sarabeth's restaurant to celebrate the off-Broadway debut of their stellar ensemble piece. The latest work by prolific playwright A.R. Gurney (a proud Buffalo, NY native),
Gal is, as one player called it, "a love letter to the theater." Stage and screen veteran Susan Sullivan (
Dharma & Greg, Falcon Crest) plays the the title role, a fading Hollywood star back in her hometown to perform in a community production. As the curtain fell, the tightknit cast, playwright and director Mark Lamos were all aglow with opening night excitement. They have plenty to smile about—their show announced it would extend its run before it even opened! Click here to shuffle off to
Buffalo.
