Camille Claudel Premieres at Goodspeed
To premiere his new musical Camille Claudel, Broadway composer Frank Wildhorn headed up to the quaint town of Chester, Connecticut of all places. Chester is home to Goodspeed Opera House's Norma Terris Theatre, where many fresh new musicals have taken flight before arriving on the New York stage. Camille is a vehicle for recording artist Linda Eder, Wildhorn's wife, who made her Broadway debut as star of Jekyll and Hyde. In the show, she plays sculptor Claudel to the Auguste Rodin of Michael Nouri. The show played its final performance at the Norma Terris on Sunday, September 7, but don't fret--a Broadway bow is said to be in the works.
