Carolee Carmello’s Touching Serenade on The Today Show
Broadway fans who tuned into The Today Show on October 9 were treated to a special surprise: Carolee Carmello, singing on TV! The Mamma Mia! star was on-hand to sing “No One Is Promised Tomorrow,” a song Today co-host Kathie Lee Gifford wrote in honor of that day’s guest, Kathy Brinkman. (Fun fact: Carmello played the title role in Signature Theatre of Viginia's production of Gifford's musical Saving Aimee.) When Brinkman's doctors discovered a small, early-stage lump during a routine mammogram, she figured the solution would be as simple as getting a lumpectomy and some radiation. But more tests revealed she also had stage-4 lung cancer. Well, that was three and a half years ago, and Brinkman was in good health and showed grateful spirits during her big TV moment. She credited her longevity to a positive attitude and living in the moment. Carpe diem, Ms. Brinkman! Now click on to see Carolee Carmello serenade one heck of
