Irreverent funny man Dave Chappelle made an appearance at the March 1 performance of Passing Strange, which just opened at Broadway's Belasco Theatre. The popular comedian, who has reputation for rowdiness, seemed to be on his best behavior when he went backstage to meet and greet Stew and his talented castmates. Inside the Actors Studio host James Lipton caught the new musical at the same performance and greeted Stew (and Chappelle) afterward.
