Doubt Film Debuts to Faithful Fans in NYC

Playwright John Patrick Shanley’s Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Doubt left quite an impression when it made its acclaimed Broadway debut in 2005, going on to nab four Tony Awards and running for 525 performances at the Walter Kerr Theatre. Now the story of trust and mistrust in a Bronx Catholic school is back, this time as a major motion picture starring heavyweights Meryl Streep, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amy Adams and Viola Davis. The film made its New York debut at the Paris Theater on December 7 (amplifying the already humming Oscar buzz in the process). After the screening, the film stars caught up with a few of the show’s original cast members (as well as plenty of big name supporters) at the Metropolitan Room for a (no doubt about it) smashing good time.
