Doubt's Heavenly Broadway Opening

Doubt, the acclaimed John Patrick Shanley drama about a nun's suspicions toward a priest in the Bronx in 1964, officially opened its Broadway transfer on March 31. There was a sense of triumph in the air. Not only because this is the Broadway debut for Shanley (who is an Oscar winner and a fixture off-Broadway), but also for the cast, who got virtually unanimous raves during their off-Broadway run at Manhattan Theatre Club. After the opening night performance, the company and a glittering array of well-wishers gathered at the swank Supper Club for toasting, posing for pictures and no doubt a terrific evening.
