While Tom Stoppard's new play
Rock 'n' Roll was gearing up to open at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre this week, just down the street on November 1, the real live rock 'n' roll band Duran Duran was bursting into their limited engagement at Broadway's Ethel Barrymore Theatre. Playing a concert gig of such classic hits as "Hungry Like a Wolf," "Rio," and "Save a Prayer" the Grammy-winning group (being presented here by Citibank) introduced a roster of new songs from their latest album
Red Carpet Massacre. Guitar strings searing and flashbulbs flashin', we grabbed a few shots of Roger Taylor, John Taylor, Nick Rhodes and Simon Le Bon as they met the Great White Way.
