Elaine Stritch Greets Swanky Guests at the Cafe Carlyle
On Tuesday, September 12, it was a parade of old school elegance and glamour at the opening night of Elaine Stritch's return engagement (through November 4) at the Café Carlyle on Manhattan's Upper East Side. From Celeste Holm to Nathan Lane to Liz Smith to Hal and Judy Prince, the 81-year old Broadway diva embraced the crowd as if she were receiving guests in her house. And why not? Indeed, the Tony winner actually lives in the Carlyle. Welcome home, Stritchie!
