Everything's Coming Up Roses for Patti LuPone and a New Gypsy Recording
They were swell! They were great! We're talking about Patti LuPone and the cast of Gypsy as they headed to Clinton Studios on May 5 to put their version of the classic musical fable on the record. The Arthur Laurents-directed revival has won acclaim and a strong following, so we're pretty sure that when the album comes out on Time Life Records in August, there will be a clamoring for it. Doesn't the inimitable Ms. LuPone as the indomitable Momma Rose sound like an essential must-have? We thought so!
