Famous Folks Celebrate The Last Days of Judas Iscariot
Playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis' works always bring in a glittering audience, and when his newest piece, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, was presented by the LAByrinth Theatre Company (and directed by the LAB's co-Artistic Director Philip Seymour Hoffman) at the Public Theater on March 2, there was indeed an array of famous faces in the audience. Guirgis is known for weaving religion into his plays, which include Behind the Counter with Mussolini, Jesus Hopped the 'A' Train, In Arabia, We'd All Be Kings and Our Lady of 121st Street. Stage and screen stars (such as Ben Stiller, Jeffrey Wright, Ethan Hawke, Josh Hamilton, Mos Def and Rosie Perez) came to witness Judas' Last Days and celebrate with the company after the opening night performance.
