Floyd Collins Sings Again at Playwrights
Adam Guettel's critically-acclaimed Floyd Collins made a return to the New York stage with a series of concert-presentations at the new Playwrights Horizons digs on Theatre Row. The show, a heartbreaking true-life tale of a fortune seeker who gets trapped in an underground cave, was first presented at Playwrights in 1996. Many of the stars of that production returned for the concerts, with the addition of The Full Monty's Romain Fruge as Floyd (Fruge also played the title role at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago). We met up with the talented cast before the Wednesday matinee on January 25.
