For Opening, Measure for Pleasure Parties at Pop
Somewhere out there, Shakespeare's probably having a good laugh -- if he's not rolling in his grave. The world premiere of the naughty David Grimm play Measure for Pleasure opened March 8 at off-Broadway's Public Theater, complete with mistaken identities, a transvestite love triangle, and all the crazy shenanigans that go with a play that places its finale in a pagan "sex cave." The cast -- which stars Pillowman's Michael Stuhlbarg, as well as Wayne Knight, Emily Swallow, Suzanne Bertish, Saxon Palmer, Susan Brommaert and Taboo's Euan Morton -- followed up the opening performance with a party at Pop on 4th Avenue with their show's creative team and many recognizable Public Theater supporters.
