Great Ladies of the Stage Salute Betty Comden at the Majestic

The late librettist and lyricist Betty Comden, who penned such classic scores with her late composing partner Adolph Green as Wonderful Town, Singin' in the Rain, On the Twentieth Century, The Will Rogers Follies and Bells Are Ringing, received a warm, loving and, fittingly, theatrical tribute from a roster of her famous friends on Tuesday, September 18, at Broadway's Majestic Theatre. In a memorial entitled Great Women Salute a Great Woman: Betty Comden, the Tony Award-winning artist, who died last November, was celebrated in song and spoken words from such legends as Lauren Bacall, Elaine Stritch and Barbara Cook.
