Santa, beware: Broadway’s Jackie Hoffman is gunning for you. The recent Xanadu veteran set up shop at Joe’s Pub December 8 for her offensive and hilarious one-woman holiday spectacular, Scraping the Bottom for Chanukah, a no-holds barred skewering of the most wonderful time of the year. The show helped honor Hoffman’s recent CD release for Jackie Hoffman: Live at Joe’s Pub, an equally explicit and deliciously insulting collection of her regular live performances which includes tracks like “Jews in the World of Entertainment” and “Water, Pillow, Rectum.” Celebrated author and memoirist David Sedaris and many more were on hand for the “evening of song that’s just plain wrong,” prompting the Pub to add an additional performance (Hoffman will be back on December 15 at 7:30pm and 9:30pm) on December 22…meaning you’ve still got three chances to get Scroogey with the comedienne.
