Judith Ivey Readies Southern Comforts Cast for Primary Stages Premiere
On the afternoon of Tuesday August 22, director Judith Ivey stepped out of rehearsals at the Primary Stages' spanking new rehearsals studios in midtown Manhattan to introduce her charming cast of Southern Comforts to the media. And it was certainly a pleasure, as the cast (which totals two) were the gracious, seasoned, Tony-nominated actors Penny Fuller (Applause, The Dinner Party) and William Biff McGuire (Morning's at Seven, The Young Man from Atlanta). This New York premiere play written by Kathleen Clark—who also penned the play Soccer Moms, which Ivey recently helmed at the Fleetwood Stage in New Rochelle—will be presented by the Primary Stages at off-Broadway's 59E59 Theaters beginning September 19.
