Kate Mulgrew Bows in Charles Busch's Our Leading Lady at MTC
Before taking her announced sabbatical, Manhattan Theatre Club Artistic Director Lynne Meadow presented her final work as a director (for the time being) for MTC on March 20, with the opening of Charles Busch's new play Our Leading Lady at MTC's City Center's Stage II. A fictional backstager about the troupe performing Our American Cousin at Ford's Theatre in 1865 the night Lincoln was shot, Lady stars Kate Mulgrew in the title role of Cousin's real life leading lady, Laura Keene. After the curtain calls, we caught up for a toast with Busch, Meadow, Mulgrew and their rest of their sterling cast and company. Here's to the Lady!
