Let's Do Lunch! Elton, Jane, Angela & More Gather for 2009 Drama League Awards
“Thank you for the free lunch,” Waiting for Godot star Bill Irwin quipped when it was his turn to speak at the 2009 Drama League Awards luncheon, held on May 15. As usual, attendees got to watch 60+ theater stars eat chicken and risotto while seated on a three-tier dais onstage in the Marriott Marquis Hotel ballroom. Hosted by Jeremy Irons and Cynthia Nixon, the event drew Broadway’s best and brightest, including honorees Elton John, Angela Lansbury and many more.
