Ma Rainey's Opening Night Bash

It's no small thing when one of August Wilson's plays are performed on Broadway. The award-winning writer is considered one of the greatest playwrights of his generation (and other generations, for that matter). On February 6, a revival of Wilson's Ma Rainey's Black Bottom returned to Broadway nearly two decades after a young actor by the name of Charles S. Dutton blew audiences away in the original production. In the current show, Dutton returns to the role that made him famous and stars opposite the one-and-only Whoopi Goldberg as Ma Rainey. The cast and company of Ma Rainey's Black Bottom stomped on over to the Roosevelt Hotel Ballroom for a celebration of the return of classic Wilson play.
